A week in the life of a TV Reporter…
In August, I had the incredible opportunity to complete my placement at the Nine Network, and it was an unforgettable experience!
Throughout my time there, I had a firsthand look at how a major news organisation operates and all the hard work that goes into producing high-quality journalism.
From working alongside talented journalists to understanding the fast-paced nature of a newsroom, this placement gave me invaluable insights into the world of broadcast journalism.
I was fortunate enough to shadow journalists and work with cameramen on a range of stories including attending AFL player/coach press conferences and training sessions, Football Australia’s press conference at AAMI Park, the AFLW Captains’ Day at Marvel Stadium, political press conferences, watching a live cross out on location and so much more.
Across the week I was tasked with creating my own TV packages based on the press conferences I attended, and after writing scripts, having them subbed, filming my pieces to camera and recording my voice overs in the booths, I ended the week with two complete stories.
